*Music* : The science of foreign sound, which has its own rules and regulations. Among the most important discussions in it are :
*1. The different sound levels.*
*2. The duration measure*
and the two discussions are very different from the science of tajweed.
As for the sound levels: there is no prohibition for a Qur'an reciter to move from one sound level to the next level, if the movement is from letter to letter.
As for in a letter - such as _madd_ letters as well as _ghunnah_ - it is obligatory for a person to recite the Qur'an consistently at one level of sound, because ignoring it will make one letter become many letters, the qira'at experts have prohibited it.
As for lengthening _the madd_ and _the ghunnah_ : it is obligatory for the reader of the Qur'an to be consistent with the length of duration that specified by the Imams who are experts at qira'at in this regard. If he ignores it by prioritizing the rhythmic rules of the music, so he is sinning.
and we have actually been ordered to recite the Qur'an in the rhythm of the Arabs, namely readings that are in accordance with the character and style of the Arabs according to their original character, to deepen this issue, please refer to my book (Shaykh's Book) entitled: Al Bayaan (explanation), Describes the Law of Reciting Al Qur'an Al Karim with Various Rhythms.
*Recitation Pace*
There are three types of recitation pace in reciting Al Qur'an :
1. *_Tahqeeq_* : Slow reciting, but not too slow.
2. *_Tadweer_* : Reciting with medium pace
3. *_Hadr_* : Fast reciting, but don't mix up the letters.
Three types of the recitation pace, fall into the category _tarteel_. Because _tarteel_ means keep the tajweed letter, and knowing the stopping place. *An Al Qur'an reciter can not miss from _tarteel_ regardless of the recitation pace.*
